Hey...Where've I been?!

An update about where I've been and what I'm up to.

Let's start by addressing the obvious- it's been awhile since I've written. There I've said it; I'm not proud of that but it's the fact of life. I haven't written much in the past year, even though I probably could have/should have...I didn't. Though not a good excuse, the fact of the matter is that things for me have been crazy. I was furloughed at the start of the COVID-19 closures, after several months of looking I was final offered a job in May 2020 - I worked there for the summer. Then, I resumed school to get my teaching license and went back to workin

g at the job that had furloughed me when they reopened for the school year. During the school year 2020-2021, I student taught, did a long-term sub position, and attained my teaching license in the state of MT.

Now, I am getting ready to begin my first year of teaching- first grade! I am super excited for the coming year and can't wait to meet my students and teaching partners. I am also in the midst of preparing to return to seminary and am looking forward to getting back to studying what it means to serve the people of God.

I've also been working to improve how my local church serves our people. We've made huge and rapid changes in the past year. We created a Facebook page, we started livestreaming our weekly services on FB Live, bought and replaced a livestream camera, re-started having weekly children and youth activities, and are now planning a fall return of Small groups on Sundays.

After a start and stop, first attempt, I am also preparing to start a young adult group. Something my church has struggled to do in the past, and that I have first hand experience at failing to do successfully over time. So look forward to me writing/documenting that experience here and on my other socials.

I am excited to be writing again and cannot wait to share this journey called life with you again.
